Sunshine soaks into her skin, defrosting what she froze during the darkest days. She leans back on her elbows, face turned towards the sun as she breathes in this very moment. She feels at home in her skin at last, shimmering with freedom as she accepts what is and what has past.
There are no questions to be asked by the ground underneath her, no answers to be found in the grass. She’s free to be exactly who she wants, changing as often as she changes her mind. There are no expectations for her out here and with that, no fear of running out of time.
The breeze rustles leaves on trees above her and her chest rises and dips with each thankful breath. The wind carries compliments to her ears, reminding her who she is. Comforting and chaotic, soft yet strong- it’s truly no wonder why she and the wind get along.
Right here, this is all she needs. Silence and peace with room to grow and grieve. Shimmering and sparkling only for herself, with no one around to see.
